The Golden Rules To Losing Weight
17 Comments Published by diettrials January 11th, 2006 in Golden Rules, Losing weightSo far from the first week we have learnt that there are 4 simple Golden Rules to becoming thin. They all seem very achievable and almost common sense… to the point of why didn’t I think of that and get paid millions for writing a book about them.
Rule 1
Eat When You’re Hungry
Well surely that is obvious, until it is actually explained to you that often we don’t listen to our bodies and perhaps eat when we are not really hungry or get to the point where we are starving before we eat. He used a very interesting scale to show what the levels of hunger and fullness are, and I am normally at the top or bottom of the scale, either starving or stuffed.
So easy start there… if you are hungry then eat.
Rule 2
Eat what you want, not what you think your should have
Great… initial thought was pizza’s, chocolate and lots of lovely fresh bread.
As this rule was explained it was so true what Paul McKenna was saying that there should be no forbidden foods and it will only cause you to want them more. Apparently your body will choose what it wants to eat and won’t just make you eat junk food all of the time. We’ll see!
Rule 3
Eat Consciously – Enjoy Each Mouthful
This was demonstrated by the studio audience with a knife and fork, or an imaginary one if you were like me sat at home and too lazy to get off the sofa to get one.
So this rule is to make you enjoy your food rather than just shoveling it in. Making you smell, taste, chew, savour and enjoy each mouthful of food. The benefit of “resting†between mouthfuls is to allow your body to accept the food and give enough time for the stomach to send a signal to your brain to say that you have had enough.
Rule 4
Stop When You Think You’re Full
This rule kind of carries of from Rule 3. Since you are giving your brain more time to recognise when you are full then you must stop eating when you start to get this full feeling. Always try to leave some food on your plate, never finish it off it you are feeling full as you will end up feeling bloated.

Healthy diet, High Intensity excercised and make your life disciplines is a key to make your body in shape
Working out and healthy foods should be a magical combo. So why doesn’t it always work?
Because there is another factor to weight loss that is still not being publicized enough.
There is a resistance to weight loss that must be released for successful long term weight loss.
Emotional eating, and stress causes the weight to stick to you like glue. Deal with the emotional baggage first, and then watch the wait pour off. Find the honest guys out there that will tell the truth before you follow any more programs.
grape vine pictures,
Great post! I started using these methods and am losing weight. I think we tend to ‘think’ we need lots of food to survive. What I found was the less I ate the less I was hungry.
That sounds odd but it’s true. I now just eat until I am satisfied and I feel better, I a, also choosing to eat healthier meals and the weight is dropping off natutrally. I also tried Atkins before and thought I was dying from major palpitations etc.
Now I don’t restrict foods, I eat healthily 99% of the time but if everyone is having cake I just might have a tiny slice and not worry about it.
As you stated in your post, this method works.
Have you regarded including additional videos to your content and keep readers much more entertained? I mean I just read during the entire article of yours and it was very great but because I’m more of a visual learner,I found that being more useful. Just my my idea, Good luck
