Paul McKenna Email Support

Since I signed up with the Paul McKenna diet on the website I have been receiving supportive emails on a daily basis, and so far I haven’t found them that useful. Most of them have visualisation execises on, which to be honest I haven’t been doing that much. Perhaps I should, I don’t know. But I think I already know that I want to be thinner, and know that I will be a lot happier when I have lost some weight, so I don’t need to concentrate on it.

Today though I got the usual email pop into my inbox and it was one that I had to read a couple of times as it really made sense. The part that stood out for me was this part:

“There comes a point in the creation of any new habit where it becomes easier to do something than not do it. This is true whether the habit is a negative one (smoking or dieting) or a positive one (exercise, kindness, eating when you’re hungry).”

It become easier to do something than not to do something… a great way to look at the way we form our habits. The email makes you think about when you reach your tipping point, for instance when it is easier to stop eating when you are full rather than when your plate is empty.

    I.m fat i.m ugly and am told this all the time by my family. I was very slim, not that i was great looking but had a good figure until 93. I had a hysterectomy and hrt but then in 99 i started putting on weight after hrt inplants were stopped please help

    Hi Denise
    One of the main points made in last nights show was that you have to not put yourself down all of the time. Try to be positive about who you are. I did find that I felt fat and ugly and had low self esteem…but the Paul McKenna diet has really helped.
    Have you been watching his programmes or have you seen his book. The diet is the best approach or seen to help people lose weight and is really working for me. It is all about regaining control of food again.

    Feelings of low self esteem can only make one look at ones self and find fault-whether being fat,thinking ugly,drinking too much etc but one must try some positive thinking and set attainable targets that YOU personally set.Paul has the right approach and this is proven,also a sure way to improve self esteem and actually begin to like ones self.

    I am eating consciously but I feel like any other diet I have tried that I am eating too much or maybe the wrong things. I stop when I am full and I try not to eat between meals. I have an under active thyroid but don’t want to use that as an excuse. I do not have any scales so cannot tell if I have lost any weight. I do not watch your programme until Friday evening so theoretically only on my second week.

    With the Paul McKenna diet, there are no wrong things to eat and you can’t eat too much, as long as you listen to your body and try to tune yourself in. We have all spent years being told don’t eat fat, sugar, carbs etc on all sorts of diets which have required a load of willpower, but this diet allows you to eat what you want. I have found my tastes have changed, but I do still have all the foods I would class as bad for me but just not in the same quantity and as often…purely because I don’t fancy it.

    I also have an under active thyroid so I know exactly where you are coming from. I have used it as an excuse many a time before but I will not be doing any more.

    Saw Paul’s program for the first time this evening. Where can I learn more about tapping to dispel urges as I’ve just stopped smoking, but at times it would be so easy to light up again.

    Thanks for putting your comment onto Diet Trials. I also am a smoker and I will be soon using some of the Paul McKenna techniques to help me stop smoking too. But at the moment my main priority is to get my weight under control.
    As for the tapping techniques that you have asked about I have done a couple of posts, one about Thought Field Therapy and one about TFT - How it works.
