Day 24 - Getting back on track
Published by Diet Trials February 3rd, 2006 in Uncategorized, Inspiration, Week 4So it’s now Friday morning and for the last few days this week, after the final Paul McKenna show on Monday, I have slipped a bit with the diet and the Golden Rules. When I started the diet I was so motivated about the diet, and was so inspired by the Golden Rules that I was able to visualise myself losing weight and reaching my goal. I think it is so easy to slip back into old habits and revert back to eating quickly and when you are not really hungry. When I eat I know that I am starting to eat quickly again without doing it consciously and slowly. A few times this week I have found myself getting to the point of feeling too full and just eating because food was there. I will get back on track as I can see that it is working for me and this is the best way to lose weight that I have found.
I am now totally against dieting in the form of stopping certain food groups, whether it is stopping fatty foods or cutting out carbs… I think we all know now that this only works for a certain period and the weight loss isn’t permenant. I have to get my mind set as it is in a naturally thin person and treat food in a way so that my body gets what it needs and not what I think it might need. For instance the jam doughnuts I ate at work the other day… I wasn’t hungry when I ate them, I’d only just had my lunch, but I must have had a craving to eat them. I should have stopped myself, either by a tapping or spinning technique, or just asked myself whether I was actually hungry.
I am going away for the weekend, next weekend, with my wife to meet up with a group of search engine guys like myself, so I could do with really focusing myself this week to shed a few more pounds. Then while I’m away I will have to remember the Golden Rules. As this week is nearing an end, I am definately going to make sure that this weekend is planned to involve good, healthy proper meals and some extra exercise.

I know how you feel, I started to follow the 4 golden rules but have started to fall back to my old ways again which is very easy to do, this is no excuse really but I have been full of a cold and a sore throat and have been having trouble breathing and the last thing on your mind is to start tapping above your eye and on your cheek when your not feeling motivated in the first place plus after cutting down on my food intake for 2 weeks and eating consciously I still weighed the same
I won’t stop doing the 4 rules though as I do think it’s a good approach to keeping your weight down
Hi to you and to Graham–don’t despair dieting is so hard and you both sound very disappointed with a little slip now and again and it doesn’t help after all the effort no weight is lost.Weekends are hard but a positive plan will help and the weekend after next to look forward to.
Hi Graham
I feel better knowing that other people are having the same problems that I am having…luckily I haven’t been ill though.
I do strongly believe that this way of “dieting” is the best way to lose weight but I could really do with a dose of Paul McKenna every week.

Hi Cath,
Welcome to Diet Trials. All are welcome! The basis behind this blog was at first to help me keep motivated with the Paul McKenna diet, and to then share my experiences with others. I have found it a great help and I hope that me talking about my experiences is helping other readers. Feel free to ask questions or comment about your experiences and I will aim to help you, as I’m sure the other Diet Trials readers will too.
I am about to embark on a go at the Paul McKenna system myself. I have purchased the book ‘I can make you thin’ with the CD and have been interested in reading your comments.
Hi Juless,
Best of luck with the Paul Mckenna diet… let us know how you get on. I think the main rule to follow is to eat consciously. It can be hard but it does work if you stick at it.
