Hypnosis is an incredibly useful tool to bring about therapeutic change. The "trance" state is a perfectly natural state that we enter into many times a day all on our own. When in that relaxed state the mind in more open to positive suggestion. You may already know on a conscious level exactly what you need to do to achieve your goals but still can’t get there. Why? Research has shown that most instinctive, over emotional, and seemingly uncontrollable responses stem from the subconscious mind. So whether you want to lose weight or stop-smoking, directly influencing and getting the subconscious "on side" if you like is an enormous help. To answer your question Anastasia, even if a person were to fall asleep during a hypnosis session there would always be a part of the mind that is listening. If you consider every second we receive approximately 2million packets of information through our senses. Now, not much of that is going to reach our awareness. The mind still processes that information, just not consciously (that would be too much to cope with) If you want to find out more you can visit my website. www.hypnochanges.co.uk. I'll be adding more to it soon. Thanks Filipe Really enjoyed reading the comments left on this blog and thought I could share some of my knowledge with everyone. At the end of the day most people never carry out the "underhand" or "underground" courses available as they lose interest and move on to something else. Its long been an opinion of most that hypnosis does not work, but i disagree. Just my opinion though Although there does seem to be some controversy over certian hypnosis

Just a question: I have bought the book and the CD, I am listening to it every night for the past couple of weeks, and I am generally happy with the programme. Though it seems to be working (I tossed my scales, but clothes feel better), my only worry is that I am not making the most of the CD: after the point where Paul says to picture my new body in every detail and sweep into it, I fall soundly asleep, only to wake when Paul counts to wake up. Then I wake up only to take off my earphones and sleep deeply. Can hypnosis work if the subject falls into real sleeping? It is like I am not actually participating in the process, I just let the content record in my subconscious. Also (this may sound even more silly), I am not sure that the subconscious can be programmed in any other language than the native (which is not English for me); I have used hypnosis before and my therapist had insisted that I should translate the material into my native language. But Paul’s CD is amazing, I would destroy the whole experience I was to tailor it. Any thoughts? Thank you very much for you kind help! Hello and thank you for your very enlighting blog.

It too inspired me to try this diet out as it made so much common sense. I haven't bought the book yet and from reading about the hypnosis CD I am definately going to go and buy it at the weekend. I am looking forward to having Paul McKenna reaffirm what I am meant to be aiming for. I really think it will help me. I started the Paul McKenna diet when I saw the programme on Sky One.
