Paul McKenna Hypnosis CD
Published by Diet Trials February 9th, 2006 in Golden Rules, Paul Mckenna BookI have been asked a question by one of the Diet Trials readers about the hypnosis CD that comes with the “I Can Make You Thin” book, so I thought that it would be better for me to answer the question so that everyone can read my thoughts on it.
I have always been a bit sceptical but curious about hypnosis. I suppose it has a lot to do with trust and being able to relax. I was quite confident before I listened to the CD that I would be ok, as I had trust in Paul McKenna. I listened to the CD a few weeks ago so it is not really fresh in my mind what actually happened and because you are in a sort of hypnotic state even straight after listening to it I wasn’t 100% sure what had been said. Being under hypnosis means that messages can be sent to your subconscious that will make you act or think in a different way.
One thing that I must stress for anyone that is contemplating listening to the CD and maybe are a bit sceptical, you are conscious all the way through….just very relaxed. You can hear what is going on and if for what ever reason you needed to break off from the CD you can just get up. When you do finish the CD you feel very awake and alert, not sleepy or anything like that.
Anyway on the CD Paul Mckenna speaks in his usual soft, calm voice and at times. All you have to do is follow the instructions that he tells you to do such as counting down. The counting down part I suppose like our reader suggests is just a way to get us to allow Paul’s suggestions to get into our subconscious. I can’t quite remember what happened during this part as I was so relaxed, but I remember that Paul was reaffirming the details of the book and the SkyOne show. At the end of the CD Paul starts to bring you back into the real world and you wake up fine.
The CD did help me in the early weeks and there were times that I found myself doing something that wasn’t part of the Golden Rules and I found that I heard Paul reminding me of what I should be doing. I really need to play this CD again and perhaps do it each day for a few days to really get the messages into my subconscious again.

I started the Paul McKenna diet when I saw the programme on Sky One. It too inspired me to try this diet out as it made so much common sense. I haven’t bought the book yet and from reading about the hypnosis CD I am definately going to go and buy it at the weekend. I am looking forward to having Paul McKenna reaffirm what I am meant to be aiming for. I really think it will help me.

hi does the paul mckenna book and cd work if so i am going to buy it, i have tried every trick in the book and im still noit slim
Hello and thank you for your very enlighting blog.
Just a question: I have bought the book and the CD, I am listening to it every night for the past couple of weeks, and I am generally happy with the programme. Though it seems to be working (I tossed my scales, but clothes feel better), my only worry is that I am not making the most of the CD: after the point where Paul says to picture my new body in every detail and sweep into it, I fall soundly asleep, only to wake when Paul counts to wake up. Then I wake up only to take off my earphones and sleep deeply.
Can hypnosis work if the subject falls into real sleeping? It is like I am not actually participating in the process, I just let the content record in my subconscious.
Also (this may sound even more silly), I am not sure that the subconscious can be programmed in any other language than the native (which is not English for me); I have used hypnosis before and my therapist had insisted that I should translate the material into my native language. But Paul’s CD is amazing, I would destroy the whole experience I was to tailor it.
Any thoughts?
Thank you very much for you kind help!
Thank you for your site. I have found here much useful information…
Although there does seem to be some controversy over certian hypnosis
courses on the internet, is there really cause for concern?
At the end of the day most people never carry out the “underhand” or “underground”
courses available as they lose interest and move on to something else.
Its long been an opinion of most that hypnosis does not work, but i disagree.
Just my opinion though
Lucky to find you, keep on the good workk guys! Best of luck.i
Really enjoyed reading the comments left on this blog and thought I could share some of my knowledge with everyone. Hypnosis is an incredibly useful tool to bring about therapeutic change. The “trance” state is a perfectly natural state that we enter into many times a day all on our own. When in that relaxed state the mind in more open to positive suggestion.
You may already know on a conscious level exactly what you need to do to achieve your goals but still can’t get there. Why? Research has shown that most instinctive, over emotional, and seemingly uncontrollable responses stem from the subconscious mind. So whether you want to lose weight or stop-smoking, directly influencing and getting the subconscious “on side” if you like is an enormous help.
To answer your question Anastasia, even if a person were to fall asleep during a hypnosis session there would always be a part of the mind that is listening. If you consider every second we receive approximately 2million packets of information through our senses. Now, not much of that is going to reach our awareness. The mind still processes that information, just not consciously (that would be too much to cope with)
If you want to find out more you can visit my website. www.hypnochanges.co.uk. I’ll be adding more to it soon.
Thanks
